The fateful year of 1978 was entered into the history of the Catholic Church as the “Year of Three Popes”.

August 1978. His successor, John Paul I, was found dead in his bed under mysterious circumstances after just 33 days in office. Even today, the rumors of a conspiracy remain.

Then the Pole Karol Wojtyła took on the Holy See as Pope John Paul II and was therefore the third pope of the year.

The collection consists of the last complete set of Paul VI, the only coin of John Paul I and the first complete set of John Paul II as well as the 2 “Sede Vacante” coins.
