Only a few years subsequent to the ascent of Antoninus Pius to the position of emperor, Faustina I died suddenly. Following her death, she was divinely revered. In her honour, Emperor Antoninus Pius commissioned the construction of the Temple of Antoninus and Faustina on the Roman Forum, in order to mark their special love by way of a monument for eternity.
Each of these practically 2000-year-old silver coins is an authentic uniqueness.
